A Story Rooted In Ȟesápa

At Wakhályapí, we're all about our mission to inspire a holistic lifestyle through traditional herbs and medicine natural to our mind, body, and spirit. Our premium sage-infused coffee introduces an herbal flavor and contains many medicinal properties. Prairie Sage has been used by many tribes within the Great Plains for millennia and continues to be used to this day. We are advancing this journey by offering our ancestral herb, a natural remedy that nurtures our physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.

Values & Vision

Values & Vision -

Wakhályapí is rooted in Lakota Values and Kinship with the sage we handpick and customers we serve. Our goals are to demonstrate reciprocation with our customers, our communities, and the land that sustains us. I do not plan on turning Wakhályapí into a corporate chain in fear of the over-commercialization of pezih́ota - sage, a sacred medicine. I see this company as an inspiration for the youth to explore their own paths and learn to face any challenge with courage.

Wakhályapí sponsored the Todd County Basketball season 23-24. A high school on the Rosebud reservation in South Dakota.

UN TUWE PI - (Who We Are)

Knife Chief Buffalo Nation Society is a non-profit organization named after our grandfather, Mila Yatan Pika Pte, Knife Chief.  This grass roots organization is committed to caring for the members of the buffalo nation as relatives and learning from them.

Our herd is located near Porcupine, South Dakota. We have managed the buffalo herd and have been informally doing these activities for several years. The buffalo that are in our care are used as sustenance as well as for ceremonial and spiritual purposes. Our goal is to restore a respectful and spiritual relationship that we once had with the Buffalo Nation so that our future generations can continue the ceremonies that make us strong.
